A narrated orchestral celebration of Tallaght by the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland. composed, arranged and conducted by Tom Doorley. “Before streets had names, the river had one — An Dothra. It watched the plague mound rise from sorrow, heard the monastery bell stitch day to day, turned mill wheels and carried songs to a snug by the canal, and it still hums under bridges where new families found a home” The Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland is a 60 strong ensemble of some of Ireland’s leading traditional and classical musicians established by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in the 1980s. The Orchestra has performed in Cork City Hall, the Millenium Forum, Derry, The RDS, The National Opera House, Wexford, the Barbican, London and at TradFest 2020 they performed in Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin. Its performances offer a rich cultural experience that showcases Ireland’s musical heritage through innovative and evocative music and song.
