The Dublin City Ramblers are an Irish folk band formed in 1970 under the name The Quare Fellas. Sean McGuinness remains the sole original member still performing today, alongside a history that also includes Patsy Watchorn, who later joined The Dubliners.
Over more than 50 years, the Ramblers have built a career spanning 40+ albums, several Best Ballad/Folk Group awards, and eight Gold Albums, headlining major festivals across the USA, Canada, and Europe and performing at venues including Dublin’s National Concert Hall, London’s Royal Albert Hall, and New York’s Carnegie Hall. Their honours include the keys to several US cities and induction into Florida’s Helen Stairs Theatre Hall of Fame, with admirers over the years including Maureen O’Hara and former Ireland football managers Eoin Hand, Johnny Giles, and Jack Charlton. Under McGuinness’s continued leadership, the band remains active, with major tours across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the USA, Canada, and Australia planned ahead.
