Bird On The Wire brings together some of Ireland’s outstanding singers to explore the rich songbook of Leonard Cohen. Pauline Scanlon — who galvanised the Irish music scene with her debut Red Colour Sun and has entranced audiences worldwide as a solo artist and as half of vocal duo LUMIERE — is joined by The Whileaways: Noelie McDonnell, Noriana Kennedy and Nicola Joyce, whose three critically acclaimed albums and RTÉ Folk Award nominations have marked them among the finest singers in the country, with Hot Press and The Irish Echo among those heaping praise.
Together they lead a masterful ensemble featuring Will Merrigan (bass), Dave Clancy (keys) and Eamon Murray (drums), with lush string arrangements bringing elegance to Cohen’s words and music. Enhanced by striking lights and stage direction, the show has already blown away audiences in the UK — and promises the same for Irish crowds.
