Artist Bio

Phelim Drew and Lorcan Collins are delighted to bring their show Echoes to Tradfest 2027. Telling the story of rebellion in Ireland from 1798 through to the hunger strikes of 1981 and accompanied by songs from each era. Lorcan founded The 1916 Rebellion Walking Tour in 1996 and has written several books around the subject of the Easter Rising along with a biography of James Connolly which is part of a series which he edited commemorating those who were executed called Sixteen Lives. His knowledge on the subject of rebellion in Ireland is second to none which he shares through his podcast Revolutionary Ireland. His ability to engage and audience is both informative and very entertaining. Phelim has worked in theatre since the late 80’s and has appeared in numerous films, television dramas and on radio. In more recent years he has performed two one man shows (Joxer Daly Esquire by Eddie Naughton and Down And Out In Paris And London by George Orwell) and has continued to tour a show of songs and stories celebrating his father Ronnie and The Dubliners of his youth. Music has always been a major part of his life and he has appeared in numerous theatre shows with song at their core.
