Eugene McKenna, the eldest of seven siblings in the McKenna family from Augher, Co. Tyrone, is a highly regarded fiddle player and tutor who has performed to audiences around the globe, performing in countries such as the US, Canada, China, France, and Germany. His deep passion for traditional Irish music and the Irish language fuel his artistic endeavours, earning him a place on prominent TV and radio shows like Blas Ceoil (BBC NI), Geantraí, Fleadh TV, and Sruth (TG4). Eugene has graced major arts festivals, including Celtic Colours and the IMBOLC International Music Festival, and has performed for distinguished audiences, including a recent performance for the UN in New York and an appearance on RTÉ’s Late Late Show St. Patrick’s Special alongside his siblings. Eugene regularly performs alongside harper Lauren Ní Néill and is a founding member of the acclaimed Blackwater Céilí Band.

In 2026, Eugene and his siblings in the McKenna Family released their debut album The Boys of Carrickroe, in tribute to their granduncles, North Monaghan fiddlers Pete and Pat McKenna. He has also recorded two studio albums with the Blackwater Céilí Band.
