Sharyn Ward is a Dublin-based Irish singer-songwriter celebrated for her deeply affecting voice and powerful interpretations of traditional and contemporary Irish song. Drawing on her Traveller heritage and a lifelong connection to storytelling through music, she brings an unmistakable emotional honesty to every performance. A finalist on Ireland’s Got Talent in 2019, Sharyn has since established herself as a compelling presence on the Irish folk scene, performing at venues and festivals including TradFest, the Smithfield Fleadh, IMRAM Irish Language Festival, the Traveller Pride Awards, Axis Ballymun and Dublin’s legendary Cobblestone. Her recorded work includes the folk album One Starry Night and original songs including Feeling Free, This Auld Camp Here and Where Have All the Travelling People Gone?. Now Sharyn enters an exciting new chapter with her debut album, Breaking Bonds. Moving from interpreter to songwriter, the album brings her own personal and cultural stories to the fore, blending the earthy traditions that have shaped her music with a bold contemporary songwriting voice. Its title track is a deeply personal meditation on leaving the past behind, finding freedom and embracing new beginnings. In 2027 , Sharyn returns to TradFest for a very special concert in The Cobblestones celebrating the launch of Breaking Bonds — an intimate homecoming and a landmark moment for one of Ireland’s most distinctive voices.
