BIOGRAPHY
Dagogo Hart, a Dublin-based poet, writer, and performer, draws inspiration from his hometown in Lagos and his experiences since moving to Ireland. Hart began his wordcraft journey at 13 and honed it with rap group Domack. A 2010 scholarship led him to Ireland, residing in Tralee for medical school prep. He shifted to University College Cork for pharmacy where he transitioned from rap to poetry, garnering him a feature in UCC’s publication, Motley and the acclaimed publishers, The Moth.

Relocating to Dublin in 2016, Hart launched his spoken-word career, triumphing in Slam Sunday Grand Slam 2017. His talent graced Electric Picnic, Cúirt Fest, and more. He co-founded WeAreGriot in 2018 with FeliSpeaks, curating events such as Talkatives and co-writing pieces like “Boy Child,” creating “See True”. His diverse works encompass “RedBeard Paddy” and is a Button Poetry’s Lantern Smoke runner-up. Hart also hosted and performed at Africa Day 2018. His writings appeared in Poetry Ireland Review, and he, with Nithy Kasa, was commissioned by Poetry Ireland in 2020 for a multimedia poetry film on the immigrant experience and home.
