Noel Hill was born into a musical family in County Clare, with his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all concertina players. He started playing at the age of eight, and has since been credited with single handedly elevating the instrument’s popularity.He teamed up with Tony Linnane, Tony Callanan and Kieran Hanrahan to form the group “‘Inchiquin’ in 1975, before moving he and Linnane went on to record their own albums. As well as being a master of the concertina, Noel is one of Ireland’s highly respected music teachers, and provides audiences with awe-inspiring performances.
